What's the worst thing that could happen to you today? Bonus question: How would that thing potentially benefit you?
Pretty easy answer...I attended the funeral of a beautiful 5 month old baby today. That is about as bad as it gets.
No happy anecdotes tonight.

What's the meanest thing you've ever said to someone?
It was mean, but VERY satisfying! You have to picture a stepdad who always felt the need to belittle people, my mother and my sister (all of whom are smokers ) at a breakfast place in Indiana with me the only non-smoker.
I was sitting there, not commenting about smoking...I never judge the smoking thing...I just don't smoke. I have never acted self-righteous about it and in fact I have had cigarrettes to my lips on some wild nights, but chose not to make a habit of it.
Anyway...he kept going on and on about "non-smokers are nerdy", "non-smokers have no personality", "non-smokers are no fun"...and I just snapped inside.
I smiled at him very calmly, picked up two (I think my mom and my sister's) cigs from the ashtray in front of me...like an old pro. Put both butts in my lips and inhaled deeply and slowly...willing myself to not cough. I equally as slowly blew out the smoke. (I can still picture my mom and sister frozen in shock) I put both butts down in the ashtray and said : "in fact I CAN smoke, I just don't want to look like trash."
He quit smoking 6 months later. I have no idea if it was because of me, but at least he got off of my back.

What are your irrational fears?

I am still afraid of Godzilla; yes, the old fakey black and white Godzilla. Late at night, I think of his eye peering into my bedroom window and I refuse to look...and everytime I am in a big city with highrise buildings...I can practically hear his crushing feet and evil roar coming toward me.
Clowns and neck-touching zombies are as terrifying, but not as big...and aren't generally tall enough to look in my window.
